Amazon’s hit television show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel swept the Emmy’s this year, securing 4 awards and being nominated for another 3. The show follows the charming and comedic life of Mariam “Midge” Maisel who seems to have it all, until she doesn’t. After finding out her husband is banging his secretary, Midge discovers a hidden talent (and passion) for comedy.

After a particularly alarming discovery (AKA her husband is boning the secretary), Midge gets a little intoxicated at the local hole-in-the-wall comedy club, The Gaslight Cafe (the same comedy club that her cheating husband is attempting to kick-start his comedy career at), and discovers a hidden talent (and passion) for stand up comedy.
